Panasonic “50 Series” featuring camera, switcher and system controller with IP capabilities to ship in summer
Las Vegas - 11. April 2010 - Panasonic revealed today its new “50 Series” – the company’s first implementation of an Internet Protocol (IP) and serial-controlled video production system. The complete system will ship in summer and includes the AW-RP50 remote camera controller, the AW-HS50 sub-compact live switcher with built-in Multi-Viewer, and two models of the AW-HE50, a multi-format HD/SD camera with an integrated pan-tilt-zoom mechanism, The AW-RP50 remote unit can control up to 100 AW-HE50 series cameras via IP control, and up to five cameras* and pan-tilt heads** using RS-422 serial control. The AW-RP50 is capable of accessing up to 100 presets for each Panasonic Integrated PTZ camera (the AW-HE50 and AW-HE100), and up to 100 presets for other pan-tilt heads.** The half-rack width RP50 has a simple, ergonomic design for easy operation in a wide range of applications. In addition to easy, precise pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris, white balance, black balance, and shutter adjustments, the RP50 also provides direct setting of detail, R/B gain, and R/B pedestal adjustments for convenient matching of camera outputs. Camera menu access is also provided for adjustment of other camera parameters. The RP50 remote connects to the HS50 switcher via IP for synchronised use at a distance or by a single local operator. The controller and switcher, both measuring 8 ¼” x 2 5/8” by 6 15/16” and weighing just over four pounds, will fit within a single rack width. The AW-HE50 HD Integrated P/T camera will be available in two versions, the AW-HE50H with HDMI and component interfaces, and the AW-HE50S with HD/SD-SDI and component interfaces plus Genlock. The cameras may be controlled both via IP, and via RS-422 serial control by Panasonic AW series controllers, computers, and 3rd party controllers. This facilitates easy systems integration and enables use in a virtually unlimited range of use. The AW-HE50H is ideal for such applications as HD video conferencing and distance learning systems; while the AW-HE50S, with Genlock and an HD/SD-SDI output, is ideal for such demanding applications as sports production, reality TV, entertainment, houses of worship, and multi-camera HD video communications systems. The AW-HS50 is a sub-compact, half-rack width 10-bit HD/SD live switcher offering four HD/SD-SDI and one DVI-D inputs as standard, as well as a built-in Multi-Viewer. With a 10-bit frame-synchroniser for each SDI inputs and 8-bit frame synchroniser for a DVI input, two-channel of up-conversion, two HD/SD-SDI outputs and one scalable DVI-D output, the AW-HS50 offers powerful, broadcast-quality switching capabilities for mobile production, AV facilities, small studios, and event video. As a “50 Series” component, the AW-HS50 provides IP links to the AW-RP50 remote camera controller, enabling automatic selection of the currently controlled P/T/Z camera video on the switcher’s AUX , PVW, PinP or KEY-F bus. The AW-RP50, AW-HE50 and AW-HS50 will all be available in summer 2010. Suggested RRP will be €2,000 for the AW-RP50, €3,200 for the AW-HE50H, €4,400 for the AWHE50S and €3,400 for the AW-HS50. *Compatible models include AK-HC1800/AK-HC1500/AW-HE870/AW-HE100/AW-HE50/AW-E860/AW-E750/AW-E650/AW-E350. **Compatible models include AW-PH405/AW-PH400/AW-PH360/AW-PH650.
